Best Foundations for Combination Skin

IMG_0062Foundation can easily make or break your makeup look. There are so many different formulas on the market it can often be overwhelming to find ones that suit your skin the best. Because that’s all that finding the perfect foundation is- finding coverage that suits your individual skin type. I feel like there are constantly new foundations being released with various claims, whether it be to mattify your skin completely, or leave your skin looking healthy and dewy. It seems like the latter has been all the craze the past year, and I am on board. Most days I enjoy wearing a somewhat light-medium coverage foundations that leaves my skin feeling healthy and like it can breathe rather than being suffocated by makeup. With that being said, here are (some) of the best foundations I have tried and highly recommend!

Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation- This is an awesome medium coverage foundation that leaves a demi-matte finish to the skin without feeling heavy whatsoever. It makes the skin look flawless, and the applicator makes application easier. The only slight downside is the strange paint scent that makes me question the ingredients used in it, but we don’t need to talk about it. For a $5 price tag, too? Can’t beat it.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation- This foundation is great for those with oily skin as it is a nice full-coverage matte foundation. The best part about it is that it allows the skin to breathe while providing complete coverage, and makes the skin look and feel beautiful. Also, there’s 1.7 oz. of product compared to the standard 1 oz. which means you’re getting more bang for your buck!

It Cosmetics CC Cream- So, technically this is a CC cream, but it claims to be a full coverage CC cream. The best part about this product is that it nourishes your skin with serum and hyaluronic acid (great for hydration!) while also providing your skin with SPF 50, which is so important, as well as covering up everything that needs to be covered. It makes the skin look and feel healthy, and I can not recommend this product enough!

Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation- This foundation is extremely underrated as I hardly ever hear anyone mention it. I discovered this years back after someone recommended it through Pinterest claiming it gave you “perfect skin in a tube”. Man, was that accurate. This foundation completely blurs any imperfections on the skin and makes your skin look immaculate. You think I’m exaggerating, but I’ve recommended this to my friends who have similar skin types as me and they became just as hooked. This is probably my third to fourth tube of it. The formula is a whipped texture, and a little product goes a long way. Now, I will say that if your skin is on the dryer side this may not be the best fit for you, but you may be able to make it work! Did I mention it’s $5 at the drugstore? Buy it, now!

Wet n Wild Coverall Foundation- This foundation is also underrated and deserves more recognition for sure. This formula may be, quite literally, the opposite of my ultimate favorite Stay Matte foundation, but it is still so so good! The formula is dewy and feels like a moisturizer when you apply it, leaving your skin feeling healthy and hydrated. If you have dry skin, this foundation will be your savior. If you just like your skin to look dewy like I do, then you will enjoy it as well, I’m sure!
